Production Fabricator / Welder (m/f)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Tig welding of product according to specification & drawing(s) to a quality that ensures acceptance of weld examination by Radiograph & tolerances of +/- 1.5mm.

  • Prepare materials prior to welding, fit up & assemble as needed.

  • Maintain traceability & quality of all materials used throughout the manufacturing process.

  • Assemble & hydrostatically pressure test completed units for acceptance. 

  • Work efficiently at all times & strive to ensure on time delivery of product is maintained.

  • Actively contribute to the company’s 5S culture & ideals.

  • Maintain quality in line with respective QA procedures & adhere to the health and safety policy of the business.

  • Carry out any task that may from time to time, be requested by senior management in order to ensure the smooth running of all departments within the business.

Person Specification:

  • 2 years’ experience within a manufacturing environment with knowledge of general machine operation & preparation.

  • Previous Tig welding experience of ss316 pipework systems would be an advantage.

  • Recognised weld codings would also be an advantage.

  • Must be a good communicator & work well in a team.

  • Willing to be flexible as the role can be multifunctional as workload demands.

  • Experience in a quality controlled environment is preferable.

  • Must have a positive and upbeat manner, be enthusiastic and self-motivated and enjoy the opportunity to use initiative.

  • Must be organised & skilled in time management, able to effectively prioritise and manage workloads.

REPORTING TO:            Welding Supervisor

It will be a hands on role performing a variety of fabrication, assembly & Tig welding functions on stainless, carbon steel & exotic pipe assemblies.

You will also be required to work with general workshop machinery such as Lathes, band saws & drilling machines to prepare materials for the welding process.

You must be able to work from engineering fabrication drawings & be able to work within a small, target lead business operating within a ISO 9001 quality system. The role can be multifunctional as workload demands & flexibility within tasks is essential to maximise the business performance.
