Ordering of all standard stock. The timing of deliveries into stock and quantities should be optimal to provide availability, the right unit cost and tie up the least cash.

The movement of all stock, including customised. This includes between the various warehouses and the effect of returns to and credits from suppliers.

The integrity of all stock in all warehouses. This includes verification and checks where necessary.

Work with the sales teams to fully optimise the timing of deliveries and quantities into stock and maintain delivery lead times in the AX business system ensuring they are appropriate and relevant.

Actively work to reduce the Company’s stock and stock turns and better the year-end target value for stock.

Initiate and lead stock rationalisation initiatives and be able to demonstrate actual reductions relative to initial targets.

Manage quarantined items stock control process.

Supervise stores personnel to ensure the smooth flow of materials into, through, and out the factory.

Visit key suppliers to ensure quality standards are met and suppliers are audited effectively.

Ensure all stocks are in place for OTD 2 weeks for standard products and 5 weeks for make to orders.

Work with the Operations Manager on other projects and assignments where appropriate.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a purchasing and supply management position.

Must be educated to A-Level standard or equivalent. A degree in an engineering discipline would be advantageous.

Must have extensive knowledge of stock control management.

Must have an understanding of Lean manufacture and Kaizen.

Knowledge of a CRM / ERP system would be advantageous.

Good competent knowledge of all Microsoft Office programmes.

Must have a pro-active, can-do attitude.

Must be able to offer a good degree of flexibility where workload permits.

Literate with effective communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to communicate confidently with both external and internal customers and suppliers.

Must be organised and skilled in time management.

Must be enthusiastic and self-motivated.

Must be able to effectively prioritise and manage workloads.
The Supply Chain and Purchasing Manager is primarily responsible for the total control and integrity of our stock and for maintaining the Bills of Materials and procuring the parts required.
