Mechatronics Engineer (m/f)

Job Description

  • Provide technical support to manage the research and development of industrial Deadweight Testers, aspiring to remain the leading manufactures worldwide. 

  • Project Management at local and external levels to ensure projects are delivered on cost and in designated time frame. 

  • Responsible for compliance with the quality system, ensuring continued maintenance and improvement of tools and materials.  

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to the UK external sales efforts as well as the WIKA worldwide subsidiary companies. 

  • Provide onsite sales support to enable the company to provide customers with innovative solutions to customer specifications. 

  • Identify and manage implementation of process improvements to maximise efficiency, increase productivity and improve quality and be a champion for Kaizen, lean and continuous improvement, following the culture of the WIKA Group. 

  • Work with the Operations Manager and Engineering Manager to provide assist in identifying and bringing on board new suppliers and sub-suppliers. Develop the purchase policy using ‘make or buy’ analysis to ensure procurement of goods at the correct technical specification, the best price, highest quality and delivery responsiveness. 

  • Manage all technical data sheets, specifications and technical drawing for all the product range produced by DH-Budenberg and its suppliers. 

  • Update any Work Instructions relevant to company in accordance with WIKA guidelines. 

  • Carry out cover activities in other departments to ensure Company outputs are achieved, along with any other duties deemed necessary as defined by business needs or your manager. 

  • To provide assistance to the Engineering Manager to ensure that all processes for manufacturing comply to the company’s health and safety requirements.

Candidate Profile

  • Local to Manchester area. 

  • Must have Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent or minimum of HNC apprentice served or a minimum of 5 years relevant experience. 

  • A high level of technical and scientific knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to practical problems. 

  • Must be have good IT skills with Microsoft Packages.

  • Must have an understanding of engineering drawings. 

  • Must have experience working in an engineering environment. 

  • Must have the communication skills to liaise with customers and suppliers on technical issues. 

  • Must have experience in problem solving techniques.

  • Must have an understanding of Lean manufacture and Kaizen. 

  • Must be a team player and flexible. 

  • Must be willing to travel to suppliers and customers outside working hours.

  • Organisational skills, such as time and resource planning. 

  • Must be Mechatronic biased. 



  •  CAD experience (Solidworks and Autocad) would be advantageous. 

  • Hands on mechanical machinery experience would be advantageous.

JOB OVERVIEW:                Responsible for providing support assistance to the Engineering Manager in managing and improving all activities and functions associated with the design, innovation and manufacture of Dead Weight Testers.
