Production & Goods in Operative (m/f)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Unloading & receiving of goods, quality inspection of said goods & transportation to correct area of use or storage.

  • Selection & preparation of materials & parts prior to Fabrication & Welding according to picking list, instruction & or drawing(s).

  • Mechanical assembly & Hydrostatic pressure testing of fabricated product in accordance with relative standard/instruction.

  • Carry out final assembly of sub-units, functional testing & QA of finished product.

  • Dismantling, inspection & assembly of returned product as needed. To include liaising with sub-contractors when required on any refurbishment work.

  • Work efficiently at all times & strive to ensure on time delivery of product is maintained.

  • Provide support to other areas of the business such as final packing & despatch.

  • Actively contribute to the company’s 5S culture & ideals while suggesting any improvement ideas.

  • Carry out any task that may from time to time, be requested by senior management in order to ensure the smooth running of all departments within the business.

  • Maintain quality in line with respective QA procedures & adhere to the health and safety policy of the business.

Person Specification:

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years mechanical assembly/workshop experience.

  • Have basic experience of working with machine tools such as band saws, pillar drills & lathes.

  • Ideally have worked in an ISO 9000 accredited environment.

  • Have experience of forklift operation (training will be given).

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes.

  • Must have a pro-active, can-do attitude & work well as part of a team.

  • Must be able to offer a good degree of flexibility where workload permits.

  • Literate with effective communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to communicate confidently.

  • Must be enthusiastic and self-motivated.

  • Must be able to effectively organise, prioritise and manage workloads.

JOB OVERVIEW:                     As Production & Goods in Operative your main focus will be the inspection of incoming goods, preparation of materials prior to fabrication, mechanical assembly & testing of finished product. There is also a requirement for inspection & servicing of returned equipment which has been in the field. The role can be multifunctional as workload demands & flexibility within tasks is essential to maximise the business performance.
