Internal Sales Engineer - Process Industry Division (m/f)

Job description

  • Be aware of both individual and departmental expected standards, objectives, targets and commitments of the WIKA Sales Charter and ensure they are maintained at all times. 

  • Use the company Axapta CRM systems for all, activities and customer touch / contact points whilst keeping the customers records up to date. 

  • Work with the Internal Sales Manager; Area Sales Manager and Product Sales Specialists to maximise opportunities, be  effective and operate in the most efficient way to retain all current business and to win new business. 

  • Load and manage opportunities in the CRM as part of a daily routine, according to the company guidelines. 

  • Demonstrate proactive communication to our customers to ensure all opportunities are being capitalised on.

  • Respond in a professional and technically competent manner to customer enquiries within the time frame expected by the enquirer and in accordance to the WIKA Sales Charter. 

  • Responsible for quoting customers within in the Process Industry Division accurately and professionally within an agreed time frame. 

  • Ensure Enquiry to Quote Turnaround Time is according to Area, Division and Company Dashboard targets.

  • Ensure robust quotation follow-ups are carried out according to Area, Division and Company Dashboard targets and log details of the follow ups in the Activity fields in the Company CRM System.

  • Demonstrate a proactive process to develop business within your sales area.

  • Negotiate suitable purchase pricing and delivery times to maximise margin and meet customer expectations to win new business. Keep all negotiation records on our ERP/CRM and ensure these are communicated to the team members.  

  • Investigate and provide professional and responsive query resolution to customer claims, complaints and facilitate satisfactory resolution.

  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement process, including Kaizen activities and commitment to the WIKA Sales Charter.

  • Proactively communicate all new enquiries with the Department Manager.

  • Travel to any of the WIKA UK offices as and when required for meetings, training and/or any other business related topics that require your attendance.

  • Work with the Divisional Manager & Management Team on other projects and assignments where appropriate.

Requested profile

  • Must be technically minded with experience in a technical and or electronic discipline. 

  • Must have experience working within a sales environment. 

  • Process Instrumentation Industry experience and knowledge would be advantageous.

  • Must be educated to ‘A Level’ standard or equivalent, technical qualification would be advantageous.

  • Knowledge of a CRM / ERP system would be advantageous.

  • Good competent knowledge of all Microsoft Office programmes.

  • Must have a pro-active, can-do attitude.

  • Must be able to offer a good degree of flexibility where workload permits.

  • Literate with effective communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to communicate confidently with both external and internal customers and suppliers.

  • Must be organised and skilled in time management.

  • Must be enthusiastic and self-motivated.

  • Must be able to effectively prioritise and manage workloads.

Reporting to the Internal Sales Manager - Process Industry Division

The Internal Sales Engineer role is primarily responsible for providing professional, competent sales and support to customers within the PI Division sphere of activity. They are responsible for the efficient and effective handling of the entire sales opportunity through to order process so they meet customer expectations and are in accordance with the WIKA Sales Charter and other Company procedures.

The Internal Sales Engineer will be proactive in developing all communication channels to convert opportunities, win orders, promote the complete WIKA capability and obtain market and competitor information and to assist the PI Division as a whole.
